A silk
covered straw hat. The straw hat base is
covered with light lilac silk taffeta and
trimmed with lilac silk ribbon. Edges
of the fabric trim are hand pinked with a
reproduction pinking tool. Ribbon ties
under the brim are of matching silk taffeta
ribbon. The edge of the straw hat brim is
wired with millinery wire to support the
edges. All construction is by hand. |

A cream
colored silk hat. The silk taffeta
covers a straw low crowned hat. The
trim is olive green vintage ribbon with a
picot edge, the vintage white feather plume
completes the hat trim. Matching olive
green ribbon ties are of modern make for
strength and durability and do not detract
from the vintage ribbon. The edges of
the straw hat base are wired with millinery
wire to help maintain the shape. All
construction is by hand. |
